Have you ever wondered how it would be to volunteer in a HIGHSCHOOL?Our volunteer Anastasia has written about her daily life volunteering in @27lo_krakow.
A Day as a volunteer in 27LO:
Hii everybody, I wanted to give you a small insight into a typical day at the Highschool 27LO.Usually my day starts at 8:50 in the morning. Two to three times a week I visit the German classes and support and help the very engaged German teacher. After that I go to the teachers room and work on Instagram Posts about recent events in and around school in “Canva“, while having a little bit of breakfast.
Depending on the day I often times have multiple English Conversation Classes in a row, where we meet in the beanbag area and talk about interesting topics. For example “The history of Black Friday“, “School uniforms“, “Water resources as human right“ and “Differences in Germany and Poland“. At some point in the day, I of course meet my Coordinator Duda Pietrzykowska in her classroom and we talk about upcoming events and tasks that I should complete. Almost every week there is some event or presentation in school that I visit to take some pictures and videos for the Social Media @27LO. I am positively surprised that there are so many great “out of education“ activities that the students can attend, for example #volleyball and #leagueoflegends Tournaments or lectures about Volunteering or Biology. When I don’t have Conversation Class I try to prepare them and do some organizing and planning.
Until now I only have one student who is attending my German Conversations, where we talk about easy things like hobbies, food and school but also learn new words and sentences that could be useful. My day ends at around 3pm when I make my way home.
All in all, it’s a very enjoyable and friendly atmosphere. The students are very respectful and most of them are open to interact. I have a lot of fun working in this wonderful school.
